eVoice receptionist reviews-Virtual Office for home and small business

eVoice Receptionist is the low-cost leader in the virtual office telephone system market, it provides a package of all the essential features - auto-attendant, multiple extensions and voicemail at competitive prices.

Defenition of Virtual PBX

A virtual office phone system answers your calls and directs callers to the individual or department they want to reach.

When someone call you they will hear a custom company greeting recorded by a professional voice over actor from evoice receptionist for you, and you just have to give them the exact scripting.

"Thank you for calling XXX company. Please press the extension number! For sales, dial 1. For customer service, dial 2. For other callers, dial 3. If you want to look up a person in our company
directory, press the pound key."

This is how a virtual office phone system works and it will let you know which extension the person is calling in on - sales, customer service, etc., so that you will know answer accordingly. If it's a sales call you can answer "Sales, can I help you?" or if its coming in on the customer service extension you would answer "Customer Service, can I help you!" or whatever you'd like to set up. And no one call tell that you are taking all the calls on your cell or from home.

Features

Google voice ready-another mobile VoIP software

For those who used to make internet calls, Skype should not appear strange to them. Skype is well known for its low rate and clear voice quality, the best evidence is that it's still growing rapidly. But right now the consumers have another choice, Google voice, that'sright, Google is going to release its own mobile VoIP software.

Google voice has all the normal functions that a VoIP service has, make calls, block calls, forward calls, store sms and call US numbers for free. In addition, it has voicemail service, provides conferencecalling too. So you can say Google voice is standard mobile VoIP software.

According to Google, Google voice is only available for Blackberry andAndroid mobile phones at the moment, but we hope that Google will release Symbian, Windows Mobile and Linux versions.

Google voice is currently available by invite only, for those who are interested can go to Google voice invitation, enter your name and email, hopefully you will receive the invitation from Google.

ZTE leads Chinese mobile phone market first quarter 2009

ZTE, the Chinese leading telecommunications company sold over 10 million mobile phones in the first quarter of 2009, up 30% of the same time last year. Among which, CDMA mobile phones account for 1/4 of that total sales volume.

China Unicom began to place orders for its upcoming 3G WCDMA network release, and ZTE got half of that share. ZTE also had breakthroughs in China Mobile's bid last year for its first TD-SCDMA debut. As China came up with its 3G strategy, ZTE also had remarkable achievement in China Telecom's CDMA 2000 bid.

Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericson and Motorola used to dominate China's cell phone market, but as China introduced its own 3G technology, the Chinese mobile companies began to acquire the market, and foreign mobile companies are no longer in favorable positions.

How to compare and choose VoIP service providers

When compairing and choosing a VoIP service provider, you have below factors to consider:

-Your business VoIP requirements. You need to do an analysis before make a decision. Find out your needs and requirements, outline your budget. Normally you need to know the number of incoming and outcoming calls, the amount of data traffic at peak hours.

-The cost of VoIP service. Many companies have huge data traffic, numerous calls and voice emails, so cost definitely is of first considerations.

-Technological expertise. Many VoIP service providers offer a full range of emails, faxes and voice mails. They can send voice messages and faxes to the employee inboxes. But it's still necessary to transfer calls to the cell phones after working hours. And most important is, no extra charges.

-The quality of voices. The best voice quality should be provided as well as enough backups and generator facility should be ensured to keep the VoIP service active.

-Customer care. Last but not the least, cost is important, but for business VoIP, quick customer support is very important. A good VoIP service provider would identify your business needs and suggest the best VoIP features and plan for you. And always be there when you need any help.

So before jumping to any conclusions, consider the VoIP service providers carefully to get the best service.

Advantages and Disadvantages of VoIP phone

VoIP phones are becoming more and more popular and widely used. But what is the Advantages and Disadvantages of VoIP phone?

Advantages of VoIP phone

1. Low cost. You can make calls at very low prices. Using VoIP phone can reduce communication and infrastructure costs. As VoIP phone calls over existing data network (WiFi or Internet), so there is no need to separate voice and data network.

2. Flexibility. You can make call anywhere. VoIP phone calls can facilitate tasks over the same broadband connection and is location independent - only an Internet connection is needed to connect to the service provider.

Disadvantages of VoIP phone

1. Quality of service. As VoIP calls are made over IP network, it may cause packet loss and delay, so the quality is not so good, but many improvements have already made, and it's quite clear now.

2. Susceptibiliey to power failure. IP Phones and VoIP telephone adapters connect to routers or cable modems which typically depend on the availability of mains electricity or locally generated power. But some service providers use customer premise equipment (e.g., cable modems) with battery-backed power supplies to assure uninterrupted service for up to several hours in case of local power failures.

3. Emergency calls. The nature of IP makes it difficult to locate network users geographically. Emergency calls, therefore, cannot easily be routed to a nearby call center.

4. Number portability. A fixed line can easily achieve number portability by maintaining a database of numbers. But it's not so easy for VoIP phones.

What is VoIP phone

VoIP, short for Voice over Internet Protocol, in contrary to the traditional public switched telephone network, is a term for delivery of voice communications over IP networks.

There are three types of VoIP phone services:

1. Use an analog telephone adaptor (ATA) to connect between an existing telephone jack and the IP networks. This type of service is fixed to one location and is offered by broadband internet providers at a cheaper flat-rate plan.

2. Dedicated VoIP phone which allow VoIP calls without the use of a computer. However it is connected directly to the IP network (WiFi or Ethernet).

3. The user can install VoIP software on their computers that allow VoIP calling without dedicated hardware. And you can move to any country or location.

How to set up wifi on Symbian mobile phone

Basically, it's very easy to set up wifi on Symbian cell phones. For most Symbian s60v3 mobile phones equipped with wifi, you just need to search wifi hotspots. Once find a open public hotspot, you just set it as access point.

When you open a browser or other programs that need internet connection, select the wifi access point. Then your browser will use wifi connection to connect the internet.

However you may not succeed in connecting to the wifi network. And sometimes the wireless network are encrypted or have MAC address filtering enabled, or DHCP is disabled, in this case, things become much more complicated.

If DHCP is disabled, you need to find the right IP for your mobile phone. If MAC address filtering enabled, you need to find the MAC addresses allowed. If encrypted, you need to find the keys.

Change MAC address to gain shared internet connection

As I said in the previous post, China telecom has strict restriction on multi-pc internet connection. Evidently the increase in broadband internet user slowed down, so is the revenue. I think that's why it does not allow more than one pc to connect to internet.

We will use the second way to hack it: change the MAC address. But before we begin, I would like to say, this may pose certain risk on China telecom users as many hackers would use this to steal others account.

When you create a broadband account with China telecom, it bind the account with your mac address. So even if you know other's account and code, you could not have free internet connection. But if you get the MAC address associated with the broadband account, now you DO have free internet.

Considering this, I will not elaborate on the process because someone would steal others account.

Hack China telecom's internet connection to gain shared access

I have an internet account with China telecom with a speed of 1M, but China telecom charge me top dollar, what makes me really angry is that only one pc is allowed to connect to internet. I have a neighbor who has the same issue with China telecom, so we decided to hack this one-pc-allowed restriction internet connection.

He has a wireless router with four ports and a desktop, I connected my laptop to the wireless router port, and enabled DHCP. His desktop was connected to internet earlier. Well the irony is that, the moment I connected my laptop to the router, a shared internet connection set up automatically, and I typed http://www.google.com/ in the address bar, you know what? It works!

So China telecom's restriction was removed so easily, I can hardly believe it. When I called China telecom's customer service earlier, she told me: no way, you can use it only for one pc, lol.
